(I get messages that ffmpeg is 'depricated software': proxy clips are not made ..)
solved: edit the kdenlive project -> configuration and change audio codec from 'libmp3lame' to 'mp2' -> proxy files are to be found in the folder /kdenlive/proxy
original codec settings for proxy are:
-f mpegts -acodec libmp3lame -ac 2 -ab 128k -ar 48000 -vcodec mpeg2video -g 5 -deinterlace -s 480x270 -vb 400k
needs to be changed to:
-f mpegts -acodec mp2 -ac 2 -ab 128k -ar 48000 -vcodec mpeg2video -g 5 -deinterlace -s 480x270 -vb 400k

=> can play in kdenlive (but crashes after a few runs :p )

Put two clips on two different tracks.
Effect > "Crop and transform" > "Pan and Zoom" on both clips,
Make them both 50% and place one clip left, the other one right.
Then add transition 'Addition' (or 'addition_alpha' in the french version of Kdenlive) to the top clip.
