Although there were not a lot of people, we had an enjoyable time looking into motion detection. Peter and Michael had brought some webcams that we tried. This is Constants Logitech cam: has great 1600 x 1200 resolution: http://www.logitech.com/en-us/webcam-communications/webcams/devices/6333
Michaels Logitech_quickcam_orbit is controllable through a software. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/webcam-communications/webcams/devices/3480
Michael has made some tests with scripting motion and writing the motion boxes to a video. Find the files and descriptions on the Video4Linux page.
Some questions about Motion to be investigated:
- Could motion use output from a tv-card, or an existing video as an input instead of a usb cam ?
- Why does it take so incredibly long before motion starts :-) ?
